I’ve been in Puerto Escondido a few days now, and the surf keeps on getting better. Today it was fairly pumping, around six foot with not many people on it. At first light I was hounded (excuse the pun) by a bunch of dogs, which as well as potentially giving me rabies, got in the way of a couple of good photos! The wave in the last photo was so good! Damn perros!
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the St Clair poles are definitely a bit of a Dunedin icon. Personally, I’m not a big fan as they’re probably the most over-photographed thing in town so consequently, I hadn’t ever really bothered taking any photos of them. A while back I sold out and snapped a few shots on sunset that I reckon are a bit different too the norm…
Now I’m no environmental activist or anything, but on a recent trip to Timaru I stumbled upon the Pareora meat works, just south of the city and very close to some good surf breaks. Pretty blown away that this is going on in our supposedly clean and green country… and completely blatant too.
